On Friday, March 27, 2015, Tau Alpha Pi, the National Honor Society for Engineering Technology, delivered approximately 1,275 non-perishable food items to the UNC Charlotte Food Pantry. The pantry is located on campus in the Colvard Building, Room 3135. Each week the pantry serves 30 – 50 students in need. Tau Alpha Pi wanted to assist in serving the needs of fellow students.

The initial goal of the Tau Alpha Pi food drive was to collect 490 food items. With donations provided by the Engineering Technology students, faculty and staff, the outcome exceeded all expectations. To deliver all 28 boxes of accumulated food items to the pantry, a campus police truck was utilized to transport the donations.

Kim Buch and Sean Langley, who are directly involved with the niner food pantry, graciously accepted the donations and praised the efforts of Tau Alpha Pi.
